Caved

Today was the day I caved
Today was the day I bought some weed
Today was the day I finished my work to come back in a week
Today was the day Theresa May painted a future bleak
Today was the day she didn’t resign but did deals with the DUP
Today was the day my nephew was born and I believed the name was Jeremy
Today was the day that Labour proved that hope can set us free
Today was the day at the station I saw some Levenshulme artwork new
Today was the day on the platform I ate prepackaged pineapple cubes
Today was the day a colleague escaped for a better position elsewhere
Today was the day his replacement I met sitting in his chair
Today was the day we dissolved UKIP
Today was the day the country drifted away from the hate the pain was lifted
Maybe only a fraction of the way
Today was the day I caved
